Côtes du Rhône 2025 – tasting of new vintages

Côtes du Rhône 2025 – degustace nových ročníků

New Vintages of Côtes du Rhône Wines – Tasting Across Luberon and Ventoux

The tasting, which took place on Thursday, March 19, was dedicated to wines from the Southern Rhône and offered a cross-section of the core ranges of two wineries – Domaine de la Citadelle and Château Juvenal, mainly from the new 2025 vintages.

Both wineries work with typical Southern Rhône grape varieties, primarily Grenache and Syrah. For white wines, varieties such as Clairette, Viognier, Rolle, or Roussanne are used. The region is built on blends that define the resulting wine style.

Tasting Highlights

The tasting began with a duo of sparkling wines – 1594 Blanc de Blancs from Domaine de la Citadelle and a new version of Gaia from Château Juvenal, now a 100% blanc de noirs, with a more pronounced aromatic profile.

The tasting continued with rosé wines, where changes in the wineries were also reflected. Domaine de la Citadelle will not produce Les Artèmes Rosé in the 2025 vintage, which will be replaced by a new wine in the Gouverneur line, aged for approximately 6 months in barrels. Bottling is planned for May. Therefore, we included a rosé from the Court Métrage line in the tasting.

We continued with white wines, where we also had a novelty from Domaine de la Citadelle, a low-alcohol white wine called Mistral with an alcohol content of 9.5%.

The conclusion was dedicated to red wines, and we finished the tasting with Les Ribes Rouge 2011 from Château Juvenal, which showed the evolution of the Ventoux style over time.
