Pommard is the only Confuron-Cotetidot wine from the Côte de Beaune in this part of the portfolio. The winery, firmly associated with Vosne-Romanée and the more northerly Côte de Nuits, works here with Pinot Noir from a village known for a higher proportion of clay and more robustly structured red wines.

It is precisely its geographical position that gives this bottle its significance. Pommard broadens the view of the winery's work beyond its home region and brings a firmer structure and more pronounced tannins. The wine needs time and shows a different side of Pinot Noir than the Confuron-Cotetidot wines from Vosne-Romanée or Chambolle-Musigny.
