Les Blanchards is situated at the bottom of the slope in Morey-Saint-Denis. The clay soil here is complemented by stone and limestone fragments, which were gradually brought down from the Combe de Morey valley. Deeper and more clayey subsoil distinguishes this location from the higher-situated Premier Crus in the commune.

As a result, Les Blanchards yields a concentrated and firmly structured wine, which tends to be more restrained in its youth. In Hubert Lignier's portfolio, it represents a Premier Cru that requires patience: several years of aging allow it to develop greater depth and harmony.
