Charmes-Chambertin Cuvée de Très Vieilles Vignes comes from three plots, totaling approximately half a hectare, in the Aux Charmes section, directly below the Chambertin vineyard. This is therefore the very heart of Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin, not the more southerly Mazoyères-Chambertin, whose wines may bear the same appellation.

The exceptional nature of this bottle lies primarily in the age of the vines. The oldest vines were planted in 1881 and 1882, and a significant portion of the original planting remains preserved to this day. They are thus among the oldest vineyards of the Côte d’Or and represent an exceptionally rare heritage passed down by the Roty family. The wine combines the depth and firm structure typical of the domaine's style with extraordinary concentration and potential for long aging.
