Cuvée de Boivin comes from a separate plot of old vines located higher up on the slope in Marsannay. The topsoil layer here is very shallow, and limestone outcrops just below the surface, which limits natural fertility and promotes a precise, firmly structured expression in the wine.

Boivin is also the only Roty vineyard managed with traditional bush pruning (en gobelet). This method requires more manual labor and distinguishes the plot from other areas of the domaine. In the winery's offering, Boivin thus showcases a more concentrated and structured side of Marsannay: a wine with depth, firm tannins, and the potential to develop well in the bottle.
