La Fussière comes from 0.41 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Dezize-lès-Maranges. The plot lies on white stony soils with a subsoil of blue marl, a geological basis different from most of Bruno Colin's plots in Chassagne-Montrachet.

It is this difference that explains its place in the winery's portfolio. La Fussière represents the southernmost part of the Côte de Beaune and showcases Pinot Noir from an appellation that stands apart from the better-known villages further up the slope. The wine has a firmer structure and needs time, but retains the energy given to it by the stony location of the vineyard.
