Gevrey-Chambertin is made from grapes from four plots with a total area of just over one hectare, mainly in the central part of the commune. The individual plots bring different proportions of structure, freshness and depth, allowing the wine to present a broader picture of the local terroir than wines vinified separately from a single lieu-dit.

In the Domaine Joseph Roty portfolio, this wine represents a classic expression of Gevrey-Chambertin and also a natural transition between the Marsannay wines and the individual Premier Cru. It has a firm structure, prominent but refined tannins, and enough freshness for further development in the bottle.
