Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes Rouge comes from four named plots: Bataudes, En l’Ormeau, Bouchon de Corvée, and Les Houillères. The vines were planted in the 1970s, and each plot contributes its own element to the wine's final structure.

This wine serves as a reminder that Chassagne-Montrachet is not only a commune of great white wines. In Bruno Colin's portfolio, it forms the foundation of his work with Pinot Noir from his home appellation and stands alongside the red Premier Cru La Maltroie. The older vines give it greater depth than a typical Village wine, but it retains a more approachable character than La Maltroie.
