Charmes-Chambertin Cuvée de Très Vieilles Vignes comes from three plots totaling approximately half a hectare in the Aux Charmes section, directly below the Chambertin vineyard. It is thus the very core of Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin, not the more southerly Mazoyères-Chambertin, whose wines may bear the same appellation.

The exceptional nature of this bottle lies primarily in the age of the vineyards. The oldest vines were planted in 1881 and 1882, and a significant portion of the original planting remains to this day. They are among the oldest vineyards on the Côte d’Or and represent an exceptionally rare heritage passed down by the Roty family. The wine combines the depth and firm structure typical of the domaine's style with extraordinary concentration and potential for long aging.
