Chambolle-Musigny in the Confuron-Cotetidot portfolio is the counterpart to the more robust wines from Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges. A thin layer of stony soil on a limestone subsoil gives Pinot Noir a finer structure here, without the wine losing the depth needed for ageing.

It is precisely this contrast that explains its place in the winery's portfolio. Chambolle-Musigny retains the character of the commune, but in the Confuron-Cotetidot rendition, it has a more pronounced structure than is typical for this appellation. Delicacy here does not mean lightness, but a more precisely guided and gradually developing form of Pinot Noir.
